Designed and built a custom 3D-printed water-spraying turret as a creative Secret Santa gift. The turret featured two stepper motors and an OpenMV camera for real-time tracking of cats, plants, or people, spraying them with water when detected. A custom 3D-printed nozzle, designed using fluid dynamics principles, was developed to optimize the water spray pattern. The turret used an N-channel MOSFET to control a 12V impeller motor, and a slip ring ensured the wires didn’t tangle during 360° rotation. Limit switches on the vertical motor kept movement within safe bounds. The entire model was iterated and created in Fusion 360, showcasing a blend of mechatronics, 3D design, and fluid dynamics expertise.
